How do I get started in AAU?Gymnasts, coaches and clubs will need an AAU membership to get started. Contact your AAU District Gymnastics Director to learn about competition opportunities in your area. If your District doesn't have a Director, please contact the National AAU office at gymnastics@aausports.org for more information!

How do I know what AAU District I'm in?AAU was founded in 1888 and membership was divided by Districts versus States at that time. Some States are combined with other States to comprise a District, while some States are sub-divided into several different Districts (i.e. Florida District & Florida Gold District). If an athlete also coaches, do they need a Coaches AAU Membership?Athletes under 18 years old can be considered a "Junior Coach" using their AAU athlete membership number. Athletes over 18 years old must obtain a non-athlete membership to pass a background check. This non-athlete membership covers you as a coach and an athlete. *Please note: adult athletes MUST have a non-participating, non-athlete AAU member coach accompany them at all AAU events.

How can I qualify or petition to AAU Nationals?Gymnasts are required to attend their AAU District (State) Championship to be eligible to participate at AAU Regionals or Nationals. Each AAU District sets their own criteria to qualify to their respective AAU District Championship. In the event your gymnast cannot attend their AAU District Championship, please contact your AAU District Gymnastics Director or the AAU Gymnastics National Chair for more guidance on petition options.

Do gymnasts have to attend Regionals to attend Nationals?No. Gymnasts who participate in their AAU District (State) Championship are eligible to participate in either or both AAU Regionals and/or Nationals. Clubs may select to attend any Regional event as there are no prescribed regions in AAU Gymnastics.

Can I insert an image, video, or GIF in my FAQ?Yes. To add media follow these steps: 1. Manage FAQs from your site dashboard or in the Editor 2. Create a new FAQ or edit an existing one 3. From the answer text box click on the video, image or GIF icon 4. Add media from your library and save.

How do I edit or remove the 'Frequently Asked Questions' title?You can edit the title from the FAQ 'Settings' tab in the Editor. To remove the title from your mobile app go to the 'Site & App' tab in your Owner's app and customize.
